Dragon Q Energy’s patent-pending supercapacitor bank is designed to buffer rapid changes in AI and HPC power demand, stabilize DC bus voltage, and support increasingly power-dense computing environments.

Positioned downstream of power conversion, the system provides localized transient-power support at the row or cluster level, close to the compute loads it serves.

Built for Dynamic AI Loads

-
Buffer rapid power spikes — Supply short-duration power during sudden changes in GPU demand.
-
Support DC bus stability — Inject current near the load to help manage voltage during fast power ramps.
-
Bridge response delays — Provide transient support while generators and UPS systems respond.
-
Support shared power infrastructure — Enable load management and balancing across connected racks and clusters.
Designed for Next-Generation DC Infrastructure

DQE is developing supercapacitor bank architectures for 800–1500 VDC distribution, designed to connect directly to a common DC distribution bus and provide shared transient-power support across multiple racks and compute clusters. The proposed 800 VDC configuration targets up to 50 MW of short-duration peak power, with performance dependent on operating conditions and configuration.
The bank is a foundational building block within DQE’s PowrTrain™ reference designs, supporting DC bus stability, advanced load management, and resilient power infrastructure for next-generation AI factories.
Dragon Q Energy is seeking strategic partners interested in helping shape the future of AI power infrastructure and next-generation AI Factory architectures.
