Dragon Q Energy Contributes to OCP’s LVDC Power Distribution White Paper

Version 1.1 of the Open Compute Project Foundation’s Low Voltage Direct Current Power Distribution in Data Centers white paper has been released, covering the architectures, technologies, safety considerations, and standards shaping the transition toward LVDC power distribution.
Over the past year, Dragon Q Energy contributed to this work alongside more than 100 industry contributors, including representatives from NVIDIA, Google, Microsoft, AWS, Schneider Electric, Siemens Energy, Eaton, Vertiv, and AMD. Al Warner, DQE’s lead consulting engineer, led our technical contribution and represented the company throughout the process.
As AI infrastructure grows in scale and power density, the transition toward DC distribution requires coordination across equipment manufacturers, operators, engineers, and standards organizations. This paper provides a shared technical foundation for that work.
For DQE, this effort aligns with our development of The PowrTrain™—a portfolio of patent-pending electrical reference designs spanning today’s medium- and low-voltage AC systems through next-generation 800–1500V DC infrastructure. Our participation helps inform that development through engagement with the broader industry’s requirements and technical challenges.
Thank you to the OCP project leads and fellow contributors who brought this work together, and to Al for leading DQE’s involvement.
