DQE Sends Off Four 7.5 kWh Units for Testing and Certification

Dragon Q energy has officially sent out 4 of 7.5 kWh battery units for certification, a key step in demonstrating that our technology meets the world’s most rigorous safety and performance standards. Certification is not just a regulatory hurdle; it’s what transforms innovation into a deployable, trusted product for commercial, industrial, and defense applications.

Independent Testing with TÜV Rheinland

Testing is now underway at TÜV Rheinland, a globally recognized provider of testing, inspection, and certification services. The company specializes in advanced electronics, consumer products, and sustainable technologies, including batteries and green-hydrogen systems. TÜV Rheinland’s expanded North-American accreditation allows Dragon Q Energy’s products to be evaluated against internationally accepted benchmarks, ensuring transparent, third-party validation of system safety and performance.

Core Certifications in Progress

UN 38.3 — Transportation Safety

UN 38.3 certification is mandatory for all lithium-ion batteries shipped by air, sea, or land. Classified as Class 9 Dangerous Goods, these batteries must undergo a series of environmental, mechanical, and electrical tests that simulate the most extreme transport conditions — vibration, pressure, impact, and short-circuit events. Passing UN 38.3 ensures that Dragon Q Energy’s batteries can be safely and legally deployed worldwide.

UL 1973 — Stationary and Auxiliary Power Systems

UL 1973, established by Underwriters Laboratories (UL), defines the safety and performance requirements for stationary energy-storage systems and motive-auxiliary power applications. The testing evaluates batteries at the cell, module, and system levels, confirming their reliability under electrical, mechanical, and environmental stress. Certification to UL 1973 is a critical milestone for commercial and grid-connected deployments across North America.

IEC 62619 — International Industrial Standard

IEC 62619 governs rechargeable lithium batteries used in industrial settings such as stationary energy-storage systems, forklifts, and marine power units. It outlines comprehensive testing to verify protection against fire, explosion, and thermal runaway — key for ensuring safe operation in rugged or high-demand environments. Meeting IEC 62619 aligns Dragon Q Energy’s technology with international best practices and enables entry into global markets.

Future certifications

Dragon Q Energy’s certification roadmap continues in 2026 with UL 9540 and UL 9540A, followed by GB 38031-2025— a progression that will position our technology among the safest and most rigorously tested in the world.

UL 9540 is the comprehensive safety standard for complete energy-storage systems, ensuring that all components — from batteries to controls — operate safely and reliably in residential, commercial, and industrial applications.

UL 9540A, the companion test method, evaluates how a system behaves during a thermal-runaway event. Instead of a simple pass/fail, it provides data on heat release, gas generation, and fire propagation to guide installation and fire-code compliance, including NFPA 855.

After UL testing, Dragon Q Energy will pursue GB 38031-2025, China’s forthcoming national EV-battery safety standard taking effect in July 2026. Widely considered the world’s strictest, it enforces a “no fire, no explosion” rule and requires two-hour thermal-runaway containment, along with impact, diffusion, and post-fast-charge safety tests.

With China producing most of the world’s batteries, GB 38031 will set the tone for global safety expectations. By aligning early, Dragon Q Energy is ensuring our systems meet the highest benchmarks for fire prevention, containment, and long-term durability — advancing our mission to build safe, robust, and efficient underground energy systems ready for any environment

What Certification Means for Dragon Q Energy

Achieving these certifications will mark a turning point for Dragon Q Energy. It will enable global shipment, open doors to telecom and defense deployments, and affirm that our underground, argon-pressurized systems meet or exceed the world’s highest safety expectations. Each certification is another proof point — that our technology is not just innovative, but ready for the real world.

Dragon Q Energy is committed to delivering safe, robust, and efficient underground energy systems that set new standards for reliability. Certification is how we prove it.
